Speaking is a paired test (two candidates, two examiners) scored on the Cambridge English Scale (B2 First range about 160-190). Around 160 is a pass at CEFR B2, valid for life.

Interview

Long Turn (Individual)
You compare two photos for about a minute and answer a follow-up question.
Strategies:
- •Compare the photos rather than just describing each one.
- •Speculate about the situations using phrases like 'might be' or 'could be'.
Collaborative Task & Discussion
You discuss and reach a decision with your partner, then discuss the topic further.
Strategies:
- •Work towards a decision together, but you don't have to agree.
- •Invite your partner's opinion and build on their ideas.
